Ready, Set, Done!
As it’s been a while since our last free-write… set a timer for ten minutes. Write without pause (and no edits!) until you’re out of time. Then, publish what you have (it’s your call whether or not to give the post a once-over).

Ok! lets get this started! I have this morning gone through some old photos so I am going to photo bomb you with some beautiful scenery.

As we were leaving Katherine to relocate to Darwin in late 2006, we had discovered that we had not actually gone on a boat ride through the Gorge. Don’t get me wrong, we had been to the Visitors Information area many times for various reasons, Dragon Boat Races, School Excursions and picnics etc.

So off we set on a two hour cruise and walk!

Some Like doing it the Hard Way!

Rock Art

There are actually 13 Gorges within this splendid area, with us only able to do around 4 at this time, due to the river being down after the dry season. I hope my photos give you a sense of how beautiful this place is. What I realised was that Katherine Gorge is probably one of the most accessible that I have been to. Most along the Gibb River Road (Kimberley’s WA) are at least a 2 hour walk in and then after a long swim and something to eat, there is always that 2 hour walk back!

Swimming at Edith Falls

With the Katherine Gorge, you can take walks throughout the National Park, right through to Edith Falls, another beautiful waterhole, which I might add, you can drive to! so for most things Katherine, even though the town IS NOT GREAT, its beautiful Jewels are worth going to see!

As Always
